not very good

I keep writing things or having ideas to put on this blog, and then I realize a few short minutes later that they are really not very interesting.
This is a good example:

when the saints go marching in

So my blog has been rather post-free as of late. There are a couple of reasons, but this is one of the culprits: The Rule by St. Benedict. It's all about how to live a life of aceticism in a monastery and thereby achieve union with God. It's incredibly interesting, I'll probably post more about it once my presentation on the subject is over.

Below is a picture of the Dar Mar Antonios monastery in Egypt, the oldest Christian Monastery in the world. It doesn't have any entrances...everything that comes in has to be hauled over the wall with ropes.
I am truly impressed at the efforts of monks to be pure and Holy. I know there are some flaws in the theology behind the concept, but I can't help but be excited at their commitment to the lifestyle.

I tried to make a pun out of this but I couldn't think of a good one.

I was going to post something about how it seems like time is passing very quickly these days, but I couldn't find the time.

the pleasure is all mine

There is a certain enjoyment that I receive from sitting down and writing a paper, reworking and rewording until I have something good and hopefully thought provoking. Words are very beautiful things. I don't even care if I can't think of anything original, it's is a pleasure to put thoughts together in a coherent order.

In other news, I think pictures are nice things to put on blogs. Spice things up a little, if you know what I mean.
