anyone can play guitar
Today I skipped a boring class to go see the third year music students put on a performance in the Mohawk Theatre.
There was this one guy named Alex. He's a piano player. I see him around quite a bit, but I never talk to him, because prep people don't really talk to third year people.
Anyway, he didn't announce what he was going to play before he played it.
I hate it when people do that.
Its sort of like they are saying "I would tell you who wrote this, but that would mean I have to stop and pay attention to you."

it's cool that jazz musicians have etiquette like that. etiquette is a cool word. sorry that you had to get disrespected like that.
that's why I like how my choir director not only announces the piece, but gives the audience a brief history of it before we start...
I have the same beef against radio. They should tell you what you're hearing.
you know what, i bet that alex guy is a really nice person.
you should say hello to him, he probably just forgot cause he was kind of nervous or something.
Hey! I can see what you mean. But try being the person up there . . . like at my piano recitals, we have to bow before AND after we play our piece. I can see how it looks professional and acknowledges the audience, but it's not my favorite. And hey, maybe he hates talking in public. Was he good though?
Yeah, I can see what you are saying Carol-Lee, but I think that since it's his job to be a proffesianal performer, it is probably a good idea to get to know the audience a little bit. It's not like it's his first time performing or anything.
He was pretty good though.
hmm i second what brittni said. because she's smart. and i like how she thinks.
Oh, I totally agree Ryan, don't get me wrong. He should definately acknowledge the audience, especially since he's supposed to be professional. I was just trying to see from his angle.
